Coffee with Nuffies

Every month the Nuffies in Malaysia spend some time to meet our wonderful bloggers in our humble small office. It's a very informal session and we normally extend about 5 invitations out to bloggers who wishes to learn more about Nuffnang, Nuffies and how things really work behind the scene of their ads generating income for them. :)

After having 3 sessions, I guess I rather know what most bloggers will be asking or looking forward to know. But before I delve further into the details I think I can pretty much sum up how a Coffee with Nuffies session roll out normally.

4pm - Arrival of bloggers
This period of time varies as some of the bloggers are early and some are late. If we do have the time to accommodate latecomers, we'll wait for them before we start. :D

As stated in the name of the session, it's Coffee with Nuffies, thus we serve our bloggers with Coffee of course! I think there are about 15 bloggers or more who have tasted our coffee so far. We also serve some light refreshments and they varies from time to time. Sometimes we serve some Malay kuih, sometimes cookies or even snacks. :p

4.15pm Icebreaking with bloggers
While waiting for other bloggers to arrive, the Nuffies usually sit around and chat with the bloggers getting to know each other better. It's always nice to know more people and I'm glad I have a team of colleagues who enjoy doing so too.

Some notable knowledge was something like Bernard not knowing that our office is walking distance from Dang Wangi LRT station and instead, he walked from Dang Wangi to Bukit Nanas monorail station just to stop at 1 station later, Medan Tuanku to come to our office. LOL.

4.30pm Tour around Nuffnang office
Tour seems a little exaggerated actually. But we do have a lot of staffs thus it's a routine for us to introduce each one of our staffs to the bloggers so they know how many people are behind the company of Nuffnang, be it programmer, designers, blogger relations, ad ops, sales, admin, accounts and etc.

nuffies corner

This is also where we introduce our comfy corner, the Nuffies corner where we have beanbags for our staff to rest on should anyone need rest during office hours. Yes, we encourage our colleagues to sleep during office hours. :D

4.45pm Featured Nuffie session
This is when we have our Featured Nuffie talk to the bloggers about his/her job scope in Nuffnang and for bloggers to ask questions to the Featured Nuffie. Among our previous featured Nuffie were David, Michelle and Sara (shit can't find url at the moment).

5.00pm Q&A with Blogger Relations
Usually headed by me or Xinxian, this is the part where bloggers ask the most questions. Among them are how ads work, how ads are assigned, what is the criteria for blogs to be assigned ads, placements, rules and regulations and etc. This is actually the main reason why we have these sessions, we wish to educate more bloggers in person so they are knowledgeable enough to share the information with other bloggers out there.

So far, I think it's working because more and more people seems to know what is the right criteria to be assigned ads. I'm not gonna share it here cause all the necessary information are actually available in the Nuffnang website. It's just that most people don't look for information before they ask questions. :S

Most sessions usually end with the bloggers joining the Nuffies playing Band Hero or some Nintendo Wii games cause by the time the session ends, it will usually be 6pm and everyone will normally take a break that time. :D

If you have not been to a Coffee with Nuffies session yet, I strongly suggest that you come for the next one. If you've been, too bad, cause you can only attend once cause we'd like to pass the opportunity to other Nuffnangers who haven't come before. :)

Well, now that badminton fever is over, I think World Cup fever is really coming up strong! Check out the crowd of the mall when the Celcom Blue Bears are dancing sparking up the World Cup heat! Fuyoo!!

I'm throwing my bet on France this year for the World Cup. The France team is solid and there ain't anything the other teams can stop them from winning. The sad case for Malaysia football fans is that they tend to only support Brazil (due to the fact they won the World Cup the most) and England (too much BPL and can't get their head out). That is actually quite ignorant if you ask me. :P

Oh well, irregardless of the team you support, you can still support them since it's a free country after all. The best thing of all, Celcom is providing lots of freebies in conjunction with this year's World Cup.

Check out www.celcom.com.my/vs for lots of freebies you can download or learn like Bearigamy (bear origami, damn cute I tell you!).

Cheers
