Grooming the Next Generation

It's ironic that someone as young as me to be talking about things like this.

But then again, the 'next generation' and 'young' are always relative to what you are referring to. When I was much younger, I was in Scouts, Taekwondo and a few other clubs and I took on a lot of roles till I led those clubs.

When it was time for me to pass the helm to the younger generations, I did a lot of teaching and advised the juniors a lot regarding managing the clubs that I was passionate about. Of course, back in those days, things were much simpler. Stick with the rules/tradition, get permission from teacher in charge, execute accordingly and you're done.

Then comes the University/College's clubs and activities. Same repeated itself and I did what I could to share my knowledge with my juniors when I left.

Now that I'm working and I have new colleagues coming in, it's very much my duty to groom the new faces in the department I work in, since I happen to be the most senior staff in that department. I'm pretty pleased to admit that my colleague, Fresh whom have been with the department for the past 9 months has been doing a great job picking up the messy lessons I threw at her. She's doing so well that I dare say, if I'm to be crushed by a gay steamroller (literally) , I'll prolly be gay crushed in peace/pieces cause I know Fresh will hold the fort well.

Of course, that doesn't mean I'm talking myself out of a job here, but I do think that my colleague, Fresh has been a wonderful addition to the growing team of the company I work in. Of course, with the growing number of the members under our community, it's pretty much time for my department to grow again.

Coming Monday, I'll have a new colleague! I hope the experience will be 'refreshing' (laugh laugh) and I hope we'll have a wonderful time ahead with more progress in growing the community.

P.S. Who wants to guess how the new colleague looks like? A cute guy? A pretty girl?
