Hedonistic

Was chatting with one of my closer pals, KY the other day and he shared a word which wasn't common to me which I found interesting.

Hedonistic.

Hedonistic refers to someone who applies hedonism. Refer this link at wiki for further reading.

For those of you who are damn lazy to click, the gist of hedonism/hedonistic is a school of thought that pleasure is above all things in life. Make it simple, someone who's hedonist seeks to derive maximum pleasure in his/her life.

While I don't think I fit into the category of hedonist fully (I don't touch myself sexually at all times, though the frequency is admittedly high, lol), I do see myself doing things that benefit me directly.

Say for instance the following scenario;

Scenario A
Fresh and Mijel ask me to go Snowflake to hang out and catch up.

Scenario B
A cute guy, say someone like Leo Ho's standard ask me out for a date and mentioned dropping by his house after that.

It doesn't take a genius to tell which scenario brings more benefits to me. But even if Scenario A exists solely without B, The likeliness of me saying yes to it is very low. It's not that I don't like Fresh and Mijel (I love those 2 bitches, non sexually) but I personally doubt I need to be go out and meet up to catch up with then with the technology we have these days.

Yea, I do know that this attitude of mine ain't exactly one that brings a lot of friends closer to me in my life but I can't help it. In this life I'm living in, it's pretty much of a rat race and time is never enough. Hack, I'm gay and I need to hit the gym, take crazy working hours into consideration and where's the time you have to hang out with friends regularly?

Yea, those are excuses I'm making up. I know. Cause I managed to find time to go play Magic cards, go for movies and stay home doing nothing. But I chose to do those instead of keeping a group of friends. Reason? Immediate benefits/gratification.

So in a way.... yes, I do think I'm a hedonist. I seek pleasure/benefit the best I can for my life. Pleasure in this context does not necessary mean fun or sexual favors but it involves comfort, immediate benefits or gratification, getting high (unlikely for me, don't take drugs nor alcohol nor ciggies), sense of acknowledgment, compliments, money, and anything else you can put your head into that makes you happy and want to feel that way as much as you can.

I'm not sure if realization of myself being a hedonist will change the way I act, but I'm just curious if there are others out there who share the way I think?

To be honest, I personally think everyone are hedonists. Reason? You're doing the things to derive pleasure in your own way.

Someone giving a donation to the blind = Hedonist
Why? The person gets a sense of relief which calms his/her soul because he/she contributed to make the life of the blind easier for a moment of time

The same morality sense of relief/responsible applies for all other acts of kindness towards anyone unfortunate in my opinion.

I know now I may seem crazy pointing fingers at others, but to be honest, I do think everyone do things to please themselves and since everyone has different ways to please their own hearts, that's why people behave differently.

Am I right, or am I wrong?

I Hate Feminine Gays

Wow, look at this faggot go.

This is the first ever effeminate gay guy that I'm impressed with and not a pure bimbo. Thank God.

Babe, if every effeminate gay guy is as decisive and knows what he wants in his life, I bet no one would look down on feminine gays. Unfortunately, there are way too many himbos out there to make you look bad thus people generalize them. :/

Tough world, I know.

There's only 1 point that I disagree with you, baby, is that people are more likely to be okay with masculine gay guys than feminine gay guys. It's the truth.

P.S. I don't exactly hate feminine gays, but come on, just don't fall under the category of a himbo and you'll be okay in my books. Example of a himbo? Suteki. LOL

How to Access Malaysians Blocked Sites

It's no news that Malaysia government has instructed all ISP to block 10 download sites including megaupload and fileswerve.

And let me tell you a secret. I watch a lot of TVB Hong Kong drama. Ho ho ho. I bet you guys are thinking I'm like an aunty or something chasing drama. LOL. Screw you for what you wanna think about me. :P

Besides TVB drama, these download sites are often hosts for nice Japanese porn which I do like *pretend blush*. So, yea... these sites blocked... not good for me. Hahaha.

Now, there are a lot of sites telling you how to unblock these sites which I've tested and they work. Since I want a piece of the traffic of people googling how to do so, I'm posting it in my blog. :D

Credits do not belong to me.

Click Apply to save the change. If you are prompted for a password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Test that your setup is working correctly; see Testing your new settings below.
Repeat the procedure for additional network connections you want to change.
If your distribution doesn't use Network Manager, your DNS settings are specified in /etc/resolv.conf.
Example: Changing DNS server settings on a Debian server
Edit /etc/resolv.conf:
sudo vi /etc/resolv.conf
If any nameserver lines appear, write down the IP addresses for future reference.
Replace the nameserver lines with, or add, the following lines:
nameserver
nameserver
Save and exit.
Restart any Internet clients you are using.
Test that your setup is working correctly; see Testing your new settings below.
Additionally, if you are using DHCP client software that overwrites the settings in /etc/resolv.conf, you will need to set up the client accordingly by editing the client's configuration file.

How Do You Know When to Stop?

Well, I'm sure a lot of us are good with flirting, ain't we?

We FB msg him/her. SMS, MSN, give him/her a call and talk. We ask him/her out for a date and we of course wants to shag him/her in the back of our mind.

Of course, when ya flirting, there's also going to be encounters where ya rejected. I mean, come on. You're not gonna be perfect in everyone's eyes, right? So, we learn how to deal with rejection (I'm guilty of rejecting a lot of people in Axcest).

Straight forward rejections might seem to be rude but it gives the best results to both parties. No one wasted time on anything.

Some prefer to give subtle hints. Not available, occupied with work, prior appointment, can't talk at the moment and etc. Now this is definitely tricky because there are a lot of rooms for error in judgment by both parties. Not something I'd recommend seriously. :/

Now what if the other party ain't giving subtle hints, but is just... very difficult to go out with? Think sudden change of plan, making you wait for an hour, takes a long time to get ready before going out, excessive developments that bring both of you nowhere. What would you do?

I'm not sure what you would do, but I'm calling it quit. I still do like him, but I guess we'll just be good friends and hell no am I repeating what I went through today for him.

Ahhh... I'm definitely gonna miss his cute smile.

P.S. Now I need a new target to fill my void. Any recommendations? :P

Fuck Responsibly

It's saddening to see so many gays out there not being responsible in fucking.

Not the drilled down responsible fucking - wearing a condom type.

I'm talking about gays who fuck gay newbies (especially the newborn gays, be it young or old) without telling them they're just fucking and not into the whole package of love and relationship thing.

It's not difficult to see that newborn gays are eager for love by another man. And the first man who show any amount of care and love (even if his intention is to get into his pants), the newbie will fall for him. And then they fuck. After fucking? The newbie gets heartbroken cause the seasoned gay moved on to the next fuck with a lousy break up reason.

That's totally irresponsible in my opinion.

Granted, the newbie is gullible enough to believe there's still a prince charming out there and he'd end up in a fairy tale, but that doesn't mean us veterans should take advantage of them.

If you're looking for fun, do it responsibly. Tell the other guy you like him cause you want to get in his pants. Don't give false hope like you want to care for him and rubbish that you can't keep up with. If you want to get in a newbie's pants, do it with charm and not with lies.

Cycle Continues

I noticed something in my life as of these few years since I started working. There are certain phases in my life that are looping. I think it goes something like this;

1. Super interested
This is the phase when I'm super excited about starting something new. Be it new game, new hobby, new fling, new job or whatever. I'd be making plans on how to do it well and impress people along the way.

Among my current things in this state would definitely be - Magic the Gathering (tournament season coming up :P ) and my gym routine

2. Enjoying the shit out of it
This is the peak of my interest in something. I love doing it every moment. No regrets of time spent on it. Willing to kill people if I can't do it. LOL.

Current things I'm doing in this state - going home to cuddle with Zach, Zuzu, Zizi and Coffee

3. Starting to feel a little too routine
Routine is actually not a bad thing but sometimes it can get a bit stale. Depending on the situation and the things I do, sometimes this will propel me back to 1) or head on to 4)

Current things I'm doing in this state - Work, I guess? It's pretty routine, right? Wake up on Monday till Friday, go work, lunch, go home. LOL

4. Losing interest
This is when the routine you are doing is way way too stagnant with no improvement despite me trying to change things. Being unable to change how the thing works, I'll eventually lose interest in it.

Current things I'm doing in this state - World of Warcraft at the moment. I lack real friends that I know in real life to play with. My guildies are fun and stuff, but no real pals to talk about the game in real life when yamcha and chui sui can't keep my level of interest high all the time. :(

5. Stop doing it

This is when I totally don't do the things I used to enjoy anymore.

Current things I did in this state - Starcraft 2 and many other games that I'm no longer playing. Looking for flings are also in this category at this point. LOL

6. Bored the shit out of myself cause I've got nothing to do
This is what I do when a certain category of things in my life is missing and I need to get back on track. I probably lose sleep or just stare at blanks (procrastinating).

Current category of stuff I'm missing in life - Good close pals to hang out with. I'm not as sociable as many of you might think I am. :(

7. Look around for new stuff to do
Once I get out of the procrastination state, I'll be looking for things to do again in relevant categories of my life. Of course, at this moment, I'm definitely looking for pals with similar interests with me.

2 categories to be honest

a) Yamcha/Gaming buddies - Similar interest in games which involves strategy. Among the games I play are Magic the Gathering, World of Warcraft, Starcraft 2, Mahjong, Texas Hold'em and surprise me if you think you have a strategy game that I'd enjoy as well. Oh, gambling is not exactly important for me, but I just really enjoy the strategy involved in Mahjong and Texas

b) Cute Gay Guys - Hahaha, do I need to explain further? I need to know what's happening around the circle as I'm a little backward thanks to my seclusion from the community these few years. Even if you're not very informative, it doesn't matter cause I definitely don't mind filling you in with my info, if you know what I mean. LOL. Cute is definitely important cause I'm superficial in nature.

I don't think that all things in my life will pass by all 7 phases, but there are quite a number of stuff under the entertainment category I did which did went through all 7. Of course, things I hold close to my heart won't change phases easily unless there's a major crisis in life which I certainly don't hope to happen.

How many of you guys reading this find the phases in my life ring true to your own? Do share your experience. :)

Cheers
Robb
